Burlington Depot
Schickedanz Construction was awarded the bid to renovate the Great Room at the train depot in Burlington, Iowa. The Burlington train depot was originally constructed in 1944 near the banks of the Mississippi River and continues to service train passengers. The project consisted of demo of walls that were built over the years to divide the depot and to bring back the original open space design. New HVAC and sprinkler systems were installed, and an acoustical ceiling was added with modern state of the art lighting to enhance the look of the Great Room. Schickedanz Construction, Inc replaced broken travertine panels on the walls and worked with a local glass contractor to replace the existing curtain wall system with a new energy efficient system while taking care to keep the same original look.
